MADISON – Wisconsin Safety Council launched nominations for its 31st annual awards program, now named the Workplace Safety Awards. The program, previously known as the Corporate Safety Awards, is presented in partnership with M3 Insurance and the Department of Workforce Development. The awards recognize Wisconsin companies that are dedicated to assuring their most valuable asset — their employees — are safe on the job.
“Safe workplaces not only protect employees, but also help drive productivity, morale, competition, and even our economy,” said Wisconsin Safety Council Executive Director Aaron Huebner. “This year, we are excited to refresh the name of the program to put more emphasis on the team members who promote safety and well-being. The goal of the Workplace Safety Awards remains the same: to honor Wisconsin businesses for exemplary safety records and excellence in safety & health management.”
A panel of independent safety, health and insurance professionals will select winners based on company safety records, training programs, safety and health leadership, and other accomplishments. The awards are distributed based on company size in three categories: Manufacturing; Agriculture, Transportation, Utilities & Other; and Construction. A total of up to 10 grand awards will be presented.
Nominations are due February 3 by 12:00pm and can be submitted on Wisconsin Safety Council’s website here. The awards will be presented at the Wisconsin Safety Council Annual Conference, held April 14-16 in Wisconsin Dells.
