Health, Safety & Environmental Specialist

Duties & Responsibilities
- Visit the company plants, field activities, and projects ensuring the correct implementation and monitoring compliance with the HSE standards, policies, procedures, and HSE measures. (HSE)
- Conduct HSE audits/inspections on the plants, field activities, and projects. (HSE)
- Ensure the correct control of the safety equipment and worker’s PPE. (HS)
- Support the delivery of the HSE training and orientation, to ensure the correct worker’s competencies. (HSE)
- Ensure a correct reporting and incident investigation. Support determining corrective action or preventative measures and ensure measures are implemented. Identify incident trends and design methodologies to reduce existing or potential incidents and health hazards. (HS)
- Ensure proper waste control and disposal activities according to local legislation in the plants, field activities, and projects. (E)
- Monitor and ensure compliance with safety and environmental legal requirements, and other requirements, relevant to the company plants, field activities, and projects. (HSE)
- Support in assessing the company activities’ risks and implementing the relevant safety measures and emergency plans in the company plants, field activities, and projects. (HSE)
- Ensure compliance with the relevant HSQE client’s requirements to ensure the client’s satisfaction in the company plants, field activities, and projects (HSE)
- Assessment and monitoring of contractors’ HSQE performance and compliance in the company plants, field activities, and projects. (HSE)
- Create correct communication channels with interested parties in the company plants, field activities, and projects. to manage the HSE matters. Including communication with workers, managers, directors, clients, contractors, suppliers, and others. (HSE)
- Support the company’s global HSE standards, programs, policies, and procedures. (HSE)
- Support HSE initiatives, plans, and actions to promote and create a high-standard HSQE culture. (HSE)
- Support monitoring HSE priorities, metrics, objectives, and requirements. (HSE)
- Support the check of effectiveness of the Management System, identify Non-conformities and improvement opportunities, and propose action to attain company objectives. (HSE)
- Support developing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the HSQE Management systems following the ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001 requirements. (HSE)
- Support in the management and coordination of the environmental data collection and assessment related to the company activities. (E)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications – Work Experience
- Knowledge of local HS regulations and standards.
- Experience in a plant, field activities, or projects HSE role.
- Experience in plant, field activities, or project operations HSE inspections and audits.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, desired.
- Willing to travel
- Microsoft Office Skills
- Must have strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Must have strong initiative/drive and the ability to proactively identify required tasks.
- Must be able to handle numerous, complex issues with differing deadlines.
- Must be able to make people understand and follow the HSE rules.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills with workers, clients, and suppliers.
- Right to work in the country.
Academic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational & Environmental Safety & Health (OESH) or equivalent
- Internal auditor certification or similar is an added advantage
- Diploma in Safety Related courses is an added advantage
- Full Driving license.
- ISO 14001: 1 year (Preferred)
- ISO 45001: 1 year (Preferred)
